Independence Day – A new meaning in the new world order.
Today is Independence Day and it seems that the word is now resonating around the world. In Syria people want their independence, in UK the people wanted independence from Europe (Brexit) and in America some people want independence from “immigrants”! Thousands of immigrants are actually going to celebrate an independence day which was a labor of years of war between the British and America. We should remember that many slaves and immigrants fought and died for our independence.
Britain ruled the world for decades, conquering, dividing and even stealing many of the resources of the world in the name of so-called civilization. The British empire was quite brutal, however, the British left some great legacies in terms of rule of law and in some places some great monuments. Today, the British Empire is itself in a dilemma. A country which has forced its “values” on the world, now cannot really contain its own “values”. It seems that history is having its revenge. The divide and rule of the British empire has now passed to Britain itself. There is a chance that both Scotland and Ireland would also want independence. This will be the final blow that might actually send Britain to back of the time of William the Conqueror.
As the United States celebrates its 4th of July independence day, we need to not forget that there millions out there who are not so lucky and do not have a chance for freedom. It is our duty to bring freedom to the world, however, freedom is also paid in blood money. The founding fathers of the United States can bear witness to that. Unfortunately hate and xenophobia have taken over, it makes you wonder whether some people actually want others to be free or want to turn back time and enslave them? We need to therefore constantly remember that freedom is a right for all and we should not enslave others while we expect to be free. We need to be fair and pray for justice around the world! Only with justice and freedom will the world be a better place not with promotion of hate and xenophobia!
Having said that, we wish all of you happy independence day and may this day be remembered around the world!
