Today another article appeared praising the “removal of few more radio tags”. But also stating that:

“ICE has committed that they would no longer be issuing NTAs. They are not sending people to the houses of the students. They are taking to them on phone,” Thomas said.
Unless I am ‘losing my mind’ it seems that the second part (NTAs not being issued) is not happening. If this news is true, then we welcome the announcement and are sincerely happy that the fear of most of the TVU students will  be significantly reduced.
However, from the calls we have been receiving in our office as per today,  many “changes of status” are being denied and many are still being questioned and NTAs are still being issued.
This is really discouraging for real immigration practitioners like us and undermines our ability to argue cases. It is also discouraging for the students to realize the kind of  inexact information  being disseminated. This surely hurts the real cause!
God help us!
