In the light of all the new information that we have received, if you attended Tri Valley University (TVU), it is time for you to choose an immigration lawyer. We will recommend a lawyer who is close to you and familiar with immigration laws. This article – Choosing your Immigration Lawyer – can provide some guidance how to chose your lawyer. The reasons why you should have a lawyer is mentioned in this article – “Why Hire An Attorney”
Please make sure of the following:
1. that the attorney you hired is familiar with immigration laws and depportation because it is a very complex area of law; and
2. Once the retainer is signed, have a form G28 (Notice of Entry of Appearance) signed by the attorney. I will recommend having a copy of form G28 with you all the time;

It is imperative that none of you speak to the DHS without the presence of an attorney.

Can ICE refuse to give details on Tri Valley University TVU investigation?

ICE can refuse to give further details on its enforcement action against the students because ICE is claiming that matters are under investigation.  A law enforcement agency can refuse to give details on a matter it is currently investigating because it does not want to compromise the investigation.   US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enforces the nation’s immigration and customs laws. If ICE encounters individuals during the course of an investigation who are found to be in violation of their immigration status, ICE can take action against them.

TVU students or any other person or organization under investigation by a law enforcement agency should not speak to the officials without a lawyer.  You should assert your Right to remain silent.  Do not speak to ICE or any other law enforcement agency without the presence of your attorney.
