Options to Tri Valley Students when receiving a Notice to Appear
Once you receive you receive a Notice to Appear (NTA) or “present in front of judge”, the students are at this point in removal proceedings. There are only few options available:
1. Fight the NTA charges itself. Many of the charges can be contested and denied. You need to have an attorney assist you on the case;
2. Concede charges and take a voluntary departure;
3. A good lawyer can look at many other options of relief (if applicable) including but not limited to:
– adjustment of status
– asylum
– possible change of status – H4, Transfer of F status, etc
– Cancellation of removal
Please make sure you have an attorney representing you in the deportation/removal proceedings.
