Cisco H1B employees struggling to know their fate
As you all know, CISCO Systems Inc. has announced and started the processing thousands of lay-offs. Among these workers/employees are H1B holders and potential permanent residence applications (labor certifications, form I-140s, adjustment of status, etc).
In the past few days, we have been receiving many calls from the terminated employees inquiring about their options regarding the H1B. Many are worried if their status have been terminated or are to be terminated.
Unfortunately it seems that the official immigration attorneys that represent CISCO will not give this information to the unfortunate ex-employees on when is the “cut-off” dates on the H1B petitions.
If you are affected by this situation or a similar situation, we recommend you retain independent counsel, that is, hire your own attorney to assess your situation. We will be glad to assist you, should you give us a call.
