ACLU released thousands of emails demonstrating the “racism” of Arizona Immigration law (SB 1070)
In a lawsuit against Arizona demonstrating racial profiling by the Arizona immigration law, ACLU released thousands of emails written by former state senator Russell Pearce mentioning among other things:
“Can we maintain our social fabric as a nation with Spanish fighting English for dominance … It’s like importing leper colonies and hope we don’t catch leprosy. It’s like importing thousands of Islamic jihadists and hope they adapt to the American Dream.”
The Arizona Immigration laws (SB 1070) should not be taken lightly by any immigrant community because it goes against the real fabric of the U.S Constitution.
It is sad that politicians have to use racism to further their agendas. While there are many flaws in the immigration system, no politician should be justified in making such comments.
We hope the public understands that SB 1070 is not only against “illegal immigrants” but against ALL immigrants and as such we should all be prepared to protect our human rights.
