Many have started to see hope in the words of President Donald Trump messages because he failed to actually pursue some of his ‘inflaming promises’ on the campaign. For example he is not going to try to go after Hillary Clinton and also kind of reconsidering climate change. However, although he has not mentioned his desire to pursue “illegal immigration”, he mentioned that he will actually go after work visa programs.

Some people are seeing relief in those words. However, it might just be the calm before the storm.  Until President Trump takes power, he does not really want to unfold his plans. Just as he mentioned in the debates, he will not tell about his plans to fight terrorists, he does not want to unfold a plan on immigration. If he discloses his plans now, it might actually cause civil unrest prior to the full transition which in turn can result in chaos.

The transition has to happen smoothly and later even if there are protests, things will still be in President Trump’s favor because he will be in control. As such the harsh things to happen to immigration, immigrants, Muslims and minorities will probably happen once the new administration takes power, even though Trump himself might not like it. With a cabinet full anti-immigration individuals, the executive branch will  almost have plenary power to decide whom they want to keep or allow in the United States. Their choices are quite obvious.  This article by Roger Algase Will President Trump’s Appointees be the Four Horsemen of the Immigration Apocalypse? does mention the type of “people” they want to enter and keep in the United States. If Roger Algase is  right, then it might actually be an “Apocalypse” of immigration.

Therefore for those who are still keeping hope that Trump will not go forward with his harsh rhetorics, they might be in for a surprise. Right now it might only the “calm before the storm”!
